Pomegranate Passion Tea “Sangria” Mocktail

Filed Under: cocktails and mocktails, no cook, recipe Written By Leanne January 9, 2022

Jump to Recipe

This sangria-inspired mocktail is just as gorgeous as it is delicious. It has wonderful depth of flavor for just having four simple ingredients and isn’t too sweet.

Who needs a little sangria in their life?

This will satisfy all cravings sans the alcohol, but I didn’t even miss it.

There’s berries, bright juicy citrus and antioxidant-rich pomegranate juice in this one and I know you’ll be just as excited as I am once you give it a try in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

  • passion tea concentrate made by Tazo tea. This seems like a hard-to-find ingredient but I promise it’s more readily available than you might think! The flavor is just right for mixing up drinks and it’s lightly sweetened. I also love drinking it straight up in the summer.
  • pomegranate juice which is bold enough to stand in for the wine and gives it that rich color
  • fresh-squeeze orange (I use Cara Cara – they’re the best!)
  • club soda for a finish of bubbly goodness
  • garnishes: fresh blackberries and an orange slice

What a showstopper! This is one mocktail that I can see myself drinking on the regular throughout the year. It’s like a fancied up gourmet iced tea… but better? I just can’t get over how beautiful it is and how wonderful the depth of flavor is for a drink that only has four ingredients.

Sangria Mocktail FAQs

Where do you get the passion tea concentrate? Can I use something else?

I got it at Target! I’ve found that the Tazo tea concentrates are actually pretty readily available at most grocery stores too. If you can’t find it, you can also try to brew a bit pitcher of iced passion tea (use the hot tea) but you would want to add some sort of sweetener.

Can I sub sparkling water for the club soda?

I find drinks get a bit more of a watered down taste when I use sparkling water for the mixer so I tend not to use it as much. That said, I know most people are more likely to have sparkling water on hand and it does work in a pinch.

Can this be made ahead of time?

Absolutely! Just don’t add the club soda until you’re ready to serve. You can also make a pitcher, like you would a traditional sangria. Use the scale button in the recipe card below to increase the ingredients for the amount of people you need to serve.
